Home Stretch

This is me this week. I have essentially one word that embodies how I feel right now---EXHAUSTED.

It's hard to feel this way, because up until this point in the last 37 weeks, I have been able to work out, pack my house, move my house, unpack my house, etc. Now, getting out of bed to shower feels like a task too taxing on my ballooned body. It's crazy how a baby can suck the life force out of you these last few weeks.

And of course everyone says, "Sleep! Sleep while you can." This, I know, since I already have been through newborn phase once in my life. However, the only person who disagrees with my getting rest and naps and sleeping, is my three year old. She was up at quarter to seven this morning. Asking for pizza. I REALLY need to get dark drapes for her room. And she herself amongst the move and all of the changes has officially joined the "NAPS NO MORE" crew. Perfect timing.

Anyway, we are definitely looking forward to this little man. All of us. We told Montana we could go to Disneyland after the baby comes (obviously not right away), so she is looking forward to that as well. She is so excited to have a baby brother. I know at this point even though I am uncomfortable and tired, it is still easier to have him in here than out. Plus, I'm cherishing my one on one time with Montana during the day, but it's hard not to sort of "countdown". Three weeks seems like a long time and a short time....all at the SAME time.

The Dr. did an ultrasound on Tuesday. Carson is face down, head down. So perfect position to be delivered, but still pretty high up...which I could have bet my life on that fact, considering the fact that I can barely breathe. I have an application on my iPod touch called "What to Expect When You're Expecting" that gives week to week updates and such on the pregnancy. All throughout, it has given me the baby's size in comparison to a fruit or vegetable. This week (and through the end of the pregnancy), it's a watermelon. WATERMELON!! Head to rump, in a rounded position. Yep, it pretty much looks like thats what I'm smuggling in there. But not only does it look like that, it FEELS like I've eaten an entire watermelon. All the time. Especially at night when I lay down to sleep, and try to breathe at the same time. Both essential to my health, sleeping and breathing, for some reason, not a very happy combo at the moment.

Anyway, if this post sounds complainative, I apologize. I'm totally not complaining. I realize the blessing of having a child, carrying a child and all that I have coming up in my life. We are so blessed and excited! This time next month we will have a little boy in our new home, brightening our lives. It's starting to feel real...

Some of my excuses

Here is just a quick look at the some of the reasons I haven't been good at blogging lately...
I've been growing---and growing makes you tired...and busy.
In the pictures above, I'm 30 weeks-----32 weeks---34 weeks---and tomorrow I will be 37 weeks. Haven't taken a picture in a few weeks. There may be one to come soon, depending on how not cute, fat, swollen or tired I feel in the next few weeks. :)

This is more so a bigger reason why I haven't blogged in the last two months...

We bought our first home!

This picture of Andalyn and Montana in the new house was just too cute not to post...and this picture of the kitchen is just a sneek peak. You should see it now with all the paint done by Marc's brother Mike and his painting partner) and all of our stuff. We are in LOVE with our home. I'll post pictures this week as I put on the finishing touches.

I'll be back...

For all two of you have been wondering what in the heck happened to me and my blog...I am still alive. I had been having a really hard time balancing computer time and being a good mommy. Not only that, but my iPod touch provided me with enough internet that I could email, Facebook and kind of check stuff on the internet, so the only thing left to really slack was the blog. Then, for Christmas, my wonderful husband got me a small laptop that I could use for blogging and writing. It can go anywhere with me. For example, right now, I am sitting in my bed, while my little girl next to me who is sick is watching Dora the Explorer. I'm still tending to her every coughing and feverish need, while also taking care of my computer tasks...like blogging. How awesome is that? Now, the reason it's taken me until February to use this amazing lap top, is that I couldn't hook it up to my wireless, so here's a shout out to my awesome cousin James who is an amazing IT person and pretty much solves every technological problem I ever have!!! Thanks James!
So, anyway, I should be back REALLY blogging soon. The next step is hooking up my camera and downloading my pictures to the lap top so I can blog the real reason anyone really looks at this blog---pictures of my sweet little girl.

Aside from just being busy as a mommy to Montana, there has been A LOT going on in our little family lately. We just bought our first home and we moved in officially last weekend. We LOVE it!!! It still feels like a dream...I promise pictures will be posted soon. Not only that, we are down to the wire on this pregnancy and we have been preparing for this baby boy to come into our family. I was 36 weeks yesterday so the countdown is on. My goal is to catch up on blogging before his arrival, because we all know how things with a newborn can be.

There are my excuses...they also apply to the reasons I have not been commenting or checking all of YOUR wonderful blogs as often as I'd like. I plan on correcting that as well. Can't wait to catch up on all I have missed in your lives!

So, look for it, updates coming soon. Cool house pictures...pictures of a growing belly...and life in general for the Rogers family. I know you've all been DYING to hear all about it. (insert sarcasm). Thanks for being patient with me.

Now, off to be a mommy to my poor sick baby...
