My recent love of running has rubbed off on my husband who has added a new 2-3 mile cardio run to each of his daily workouts. In order to share our hard work and efforts together, we decided we wanted to run a race with each other. What better race to run than the Race for the Cure 5K (3.2 miles). I have a good friend who has been battling breast cancer for a few years and Marc's aunt was recently diagnosed, so the cause hits close to home for us. It's a very inspiring event that I did last year with my friend as well and will continue to do as often as I can.
Here we are prior to the race. Because traffic was insane, we were running late and had to run about a mile JUST to get to the race on time. We got there just as the race was about to begin and we were off.
We pretty much ran most of the race together, pushing each other along.
Here we are crossing the finish line together as numbers 430 & 431 out of about 1200 at around 28 minutes.
Here we are a little tuckered and red faced. Marc says, while he was proud of me for my half marathon the week prior, that he has even more respect for me now running an additional ten miles on top of the race we just ran. :) It was a nice compliment!
We of course had our fair share of the fruity goodies!
Our little family after the race-Montana loved the pink breast cancer capes. she felt like Superman!
Thanks to my beautiful mom for coming out to support us and hang with Montana!
